Our region is in for more record warmth on this last day of winter, as the mercury soars to about 15C in Montreal and 19C in Burlington, Vermont. What a winter or non-winter it has been across southern Quebec. In March we have had no snow at all, the high temperatures have all been above freezing everyday of the month, and only 17mm of precipitation has been recorded at the airport.
The weekend looks variable as several fronts affect southern Quebec. It will remain mild, but clouds will be on the increase along with showers by Sunday. A steady rain may develop into Monday before it turns cooler with a snowflake or two. No major storms are on the horizon, but it will turn much cooler into next week as temperatures settle back to normal values for late March.
Spring arrives at 1:32pm EDT on Saturday.
